DayZ RCon and server management

RCon is how a DayZ admin kicks, bans, and sends messages without sitting on the host. On DayZ that protocol is BattlEye RCon, UDP, configured beside the server rather than inside serverDZ.cfg. CFTools Cloud is the game server management product that speaks it. These manuals explain the pieces so the product link is not the only sentence on the page.

  • BattlEye RCon for DayZ

How BattlEye RCon is configured for DayZ: config file, password, port, and RestrictRCon.

  • CFTools Cloud for DayZ

What CFTools Cloud does for a DayZ server: RCon, bans, restarts, and logs, without living on the host.

  • CFTools GameLabs for DayZ

GameLabs is the CFTools telemetry layer for a DayZ mission. It is optional, and it is not a substitute for RCon.

  • DayZ Admin Log

What to record when you run a DayZ server, and why a kick without a log becomes an argument.

  • DayZ Ban List and Whitelist

Bans, whitelists, and why they are different lists that should not share a text file.

  • DayZ Mod Update Workflow

How to update DayZ mods without taking the server down in the middle of a sentence.

  • DayZ Priority Queue and Reserved Slots

Reserved slots and priority queue are how regulars get in when the server is full. They are not a whitelist.

  • DayZ RCon Commands

The BattlEye RCon commands DayZ admins actually use, and the ones that are not RCon at all.

  • DayZ Restart Schedule

Why DayZ servers restart on a clock, how to announce it, and how that differs from a wipe.

  • DayZ Server Management Tools

What to run a DayZ server with after the process is up: RCon, logs, bans, and why CFTools Cloud exists.

  • What DayZ RCon Is

RCon on DayZ is BattlEye's remote console, not a chat command and not the serverDZ.cfg password.
