Find a DayZ server

The live list is a roster, not a review magazine. Rank, map, country, and mods are data from the CFTools Gameserver Data Service. These notes explain how to read them, which facet to open, and when a hostname is advertising a ruleset the server page does not support. If you end up wanting to run the server you could not find, the host is CFTools Architect and the management panel is CFTools Cloud.

  • Best DayZ Hardcore Servers

Hardcore DayZ is a ruleset and a mod set the API does not label. Here is how to recognize it on the roster anyway.

  • Best DayZ Modded Servers

Modded DayZ servers are the ones with Workshop items. The flag is reliable. The mod list is the actual game.

  • Best DayZ PvE Servers

How to find a DayZ PvE server using the public list, and what the list cannot promise about player behavior.

  • Best DayZ PvP Servers

Finding a DayZ PvP server that is busy enough to fight on, without trusting the word PvP in the hostname.

  • Best DayZ RP Servers

DayZ roleplay servers are modded communities with rules the index cannot score. Use the mod list and the staff, not the letters RP.

  • Best DayZ Servers

How to pick a DayZ server that is actually alive, and what the rank on this list does and does not mean.

  • Best DayZ Vanilla Servers

Vanilla means the server is not running Workshop mods. The roster can show you that. The hostname often lies.

  • Chernarus, Livonia, or Sakhal

The three official DayZ maps, what the roster calls them, and how to choose without a forum argument.

  • DayZ First Person or Third Person

Perspective is a server setting. It changes fights. The live API will not filter it, so the server page is the source.

  • DayZ Launcher or Direct Connect

The official launcher finds mods and official servers. Direct connect is how you use an IP you already trust.

  • DayZ Low Ping Servers

Ping is distance and route. The country on the server page is the best public hint this index has.

  • DayZ Maps Explained

Chernarus, Livonia, Sakhal, and the community maps the roster actually shows.

  • DayZ Official vs Community Servers

Official servers share Bohemia's hive and rules. Community servers are someone else's world, with mods, wipes, and staff.

  • DayZ Password Servers

A password flag means the server asks for a join password. The index stores the flag, never the password.

  • DayZ Servers with No Queue

A queue means the server is full. Here is how to find room without joining a dead one.

  • Deer Isle Server Guide

Deer Isle is a large community map. Expect a modded server, a long download, and a roster that is not Chernarus.

  • How to Join a DayZ Server

Use the server page address, the launcher, or a Steam connect link. The IP in a screenshot is the one that goes stale.

  • Namalsk Server Guide

Namalsk is a cold community map. The server page tells you whether this one kept the cold or covered it in mods.
