How to Join a DayZ Server

Use the server page address, the launcher, or a Steam connect link. The IP in a screenshot is the one that goes stale.

Every server page on DayZ Manager has a connect string, ip:port, and a steam://connect/ link. That is the join. Copy it from the page the day you play. Addresses change when a host migrates. The server id in the URL is the stable part. If the slug on the hostname changes, the site redirects to the current slug. Your bookmark to the page survives. Your screenshot of an IP does not.

You need the DayZ client on Steam, app 221100. Experimental servers need the experimental opt-in, and they are listed on experimental, not in the stable roster. If you cannot join and the page says experimental, that is the reason. Mods are the other reason. A modded server will make the launcher fetch Workshop items before the game starts. Give it time. A vanilla server on the vanilla list skips that wait.

The in-game server browser and the DayZ launcher are the official path. Direct connect is the path that uses the address you copied. Both should land in the same place if you copied the game port and not the query port or the RCon port. This site publishes the game address. It does not publish RCon. If someone in chat hands you a port that is not the one on the page, do not "try it anyway" with a password you were also handed. That is how you end up poking an admin port. The launcher comparison is the longer choice.

Password prompts mean the server set a join password. We show the flag and not the secret. Get the password from the community that runs the server. The password guide covers the flag. A whitelist is stricter and looks, from the outside, like a failed join. Read their Discord before you decide the IP is wrong.

BattlEye has to be running. DayZ on PC expects it. If your client closed BattlEye, you will not stay connected, and that is not the server's outage. The server page shows whether the server itself has BattlEye enabled. On almost every serious server it does.

When you are in, judge the server by the hour you are having, then decide if you will return. Rank is not a reservation. If the ping is wrong, leave for a closer country. If the mods were not what the hostname said, leave for a page whose mod list you believe. Admins who want you to stay should make the page match the server, because the page is what search and this index show. They should also be able to kick the person ruining the hour. That is CFTools Cloud on their side, not a button on yours.

If you are joining in order to learn whether you want to host, notice the parts you cannot see: the restart, the ban, the files. The public facts are the roster. The operator facts start at how to host. Playing first is the cheaper education.

Failures that look like a bad IP

If the client times out, check you copied the game port from the server page and not a query port from a different guide. Join from the stable list unless you meant the experimental branch and opted the client in. Those two failures feel identical and they are not. Mods are the third failure: the launcher is still fetching Workshop ids, or it failed one of them. Read the launcher line. A vanilla server will not ask for that fetch. If it does, you are not joining the page you think you are.

A password prompt is not a bug. The flag on the page warned you. Get the word from the community. A whitelist reject looks like a kick. Their Discord is the explanation. The open roster is how you avoid both doors when you just want to be in the world. BattlEye must be running on your PC. Closing it to "improve FPS" will not survive the connect. That is your client, not their outage.

Once you are in, judge the route. If the country on the page is not one you can live with, leave before you build. The country index is the redo. If the map is wrong for the group, leave before you build. The map index is the redo. Loyalty to a bad join wastes the evening the list was supposed to save.

Bookmark the page when the hour was good. Paste that URL to friends, not a screenshot. When the host migrates, the page updates and the screenshot does not. If the page disappears, the server is gone from the index. Do not keep trying the old IP out of habit. Old IPs get reused. Admins who want those bookmarks to stay true should keep the mods, the map, and the password flag aligned with the page, and should be able to kick a problem player without being at the machine. That is their CFTools Cloud problem. Yours is the connect string in front of you.

Questions

Where is the IP?

On the server page, as ip:port, next to a Steam connect link.

I have the stable game and the server rejects me.

Check whether the page is an experimental server, a password server, or a modded server still downloading.

Can I join from this website?

The Steam link and the address are the handoff. The game client does the connection.
